Dr. Fata uses tried and true techniques that have been successful in his hands over the years for skin cancer reconstructive surgery. The results that he has achieved, which can be seen on the before and after page, speak for themselves.

During your consultation, Dr. Fata will examine you and review the options that are available. These will depend on the type and severity of the skin cancer, and whether or not you have had prior surgery. He will then make a carefully considered treatment recommendation. You will also meet with Donette, our Patient Coordinator, to view "before and after" photos of other patients, and to answer any additional questions that you may have. If necessary, Donette will also work with you to structure a financing option affordable to you. The occurrence of most skin cancers is related to both age and sun exposure. While many cancers are small and can be removed quite easily with minimal change, some skin cancers can be very aggressive and their removal can result in a disfiguring defect, especially in delicately structured areas such as the lip, nose, eyelid and ear. It is in these cases that a highly skilled plastic surgeon can be the difference between a 'normal' appearance and a severe deformity.

Dr. Fata primarily uses the technique of the transfer of adjacent skin on the face, known as local flaps. He has found that this approach generally gives the best results because adjacent skin is the best match for color and texture. Scars can often be hidden in the natural shadows and lines of the face.
